Srisailam Temple closed on Surya Grahanam, 21 June 2020

Srisailam temple remain closed during Surya Grahanam, 21 June 2020 (Solar Eclipse). All the temples under the management of Srisailam Devasthanam (Srisailam Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna swamy Temple) will remain closed during the Surya Grahan on Jyeshta Amavasya.

This Surya Grahan is – ‘Rahu Grastha Kankanakara Chudamani Surya Grahanam’. This Surya Grahan will take place in Mrigashira and Ardraa Nakshatram and Mithuna Rashi (Gemini Zodiac Sign / Moon Sign). It occurs in Simha Lagna, Kanya Lagna and Tula Lagna.

It is to note that Srisailam Mallikarjuna Swamy is one of the Dwadasha Jyotirlingams (12 ancient Shiva Temples) and Srisailam Bhramaramba Temple is one of the Ashtadasha Shakti Peethams (18 Prominent Shakti Temples).
