Sri Venkaiah Swamy | Golagamudi Venkaiah Swamy, Nellore

Sri Venkaiah Swamy was a contemporary of Shirdi Sai Baba. He lived in the 20th century AD. He is considered to be an incarnation of Lord Dattatreya similar to Shirdi Sai Baba. Sri Swamy was born in a small village near Nellore, in the family of farmers, and he was interested in spiritual activities from his childhood itself, and performed many miracles at his childhood, similar to Lord Krishna.

Once, he relieved a poor person’s disease,by touching him in his little hands, when he was a child. And at his younger age itself, he safeguarded the devotees from dangers, and removed their sins by blessing them. People realized that he is not an ordinary human, and began to praise and respected him for his spiritual powers.

He followed the path of Datta, and he fed the hungry people, through the food grains received from the rich people. And he used to give advice to the people to chant the Mantra “OM SRI DATTA BHAGAVANE NAMAHA” frequently in order to get relieved from their miseries and sorrows. Sadguru Venkaiah Swamy took the avatar to protect the people irrespective of their caste and creed. Swamy still protects his sincere devotees from his Mahasamadhi shrine, andlot of people from different countries who are belonging to different religions visit his temple, in order to get his divine grace.

Similar to Shirdi Sai, sometimes he used to roughly behave with his devotees, and used to beat them with his stick, and this was done by him, in order to remove the sins of the devotees. He also used to tell that ShirdiSai was his elder brother and asked his devotees to worship Sainath also.
