Shri Hit Harivansh Mahaprabhu Janmotsav 2018 | Vrindavan Celebrations

Shri Hit Harivansh Mahaprabhu Janmotsav is celebrated in Vaishakh Month as per North Indian Hindi calendars. In 2018, Shri Hit Harivansh Mahaprabhu Janmotsav date is April 26, Thursday.

Shri Hit Harivansh Mahaprabhu is the founder of Radhavallabh Sampradaya. Born in Baad Graam on 11th Day of Boishakh (Vaishakh Shukla Ekadashi). He was the incarnation of Lord Krishna’s Flute. A follower of Prema Bhakti and devotee of Radharani the Supreme power. His preaching of Radha Krishna being Ek Pran Dou Deh -One Soul Two Bodies; has been the valuable asset of this Sampradaya.

Founder of the Sri Radhavallabh Sampradaya was His Divine Grace Goswami HIT Harivansh Mahaprabhu who is regarded as the incarnation of Lord Krishna’s flute. His father, Sri Vyasa Mishra, was a Gaur Brahman of Deoband in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, who was in service of the Moghul Emperor Humayun, according to ‘Tarikh-I-Deoband’ (Syed Mehboob Rizvi, Ilmi-Marqaz, and Deoband).

Despite having been born a Brajwasi, Shri Hit Harivansh ji spent his childhood with his family in Deoband. It was there that, according to Shri Radhavallabh Sampraday, he received mantra from Shri Radha in a dream, thus becoming Her disciple. In another story, the Gaudiya Sampraday says that Shri Gopal Bhatt Goswami gave initiation to Shri Hit Harivansh on his way to Nepal, although the Radhavallabh Sampraday does not accept this account.

In the year 1534, Shri Hit Harivansh returned home to Braj. Thereafter, he lived in Vrindavan permanently. There he established the Shri Radhavallabh Temple and promoted the worship of Shri Radharani as the Supreme Power. His beautiful songs, full of love for the Divine Couple Shri Radha and Krishna, still resound through the narrow pathways of Vrindavan.
