Shravana Shukravaram (Fridays in Shravan Month) is very auspicious day for MahaLakshmi Puja. In Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka, Goddess Mahalakshmi is worshipped on Shravana Shukravaram.
In 2020, Shravana Shukravaram dates are – July 24, July 31, August 7 and August 14. Mahalakshmi Sthapana Pooja is on July 24 and Varalakshmi Vratham is on July 31.
On the first Friday of Shravana Masam, Mahalakshmi Sthapana Puja is observed. The second Friday, Varalakshmi Vratham is observed. Those who missed Varalakshmi Vratham on second Friday, can perform it on any Friday in the month.
Goddess Mahalakshmi is the main Goddess to worship on Fridays in Shravan month. On the first Friday, Sampath Lakshmi vratam or Sampada Lakshmi puja is observed in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
4 week-long Mahalakshmi Puja begins on first Shukravar with Mahalakshmi Sthapana Pujan. The second Friday of the month is observed as Varalakshmi Vratam or Varadalakshmi Puja. Varada Lakshmi Puja is also performed by Marathi women. Malahalkshmi Vrat Samapana or Udwasana or Udhyapan is performed on fourth Shukrawar of Shravan month.
In some places Vaibhava Lakshmi Vratam, Siddha Lakshmi Vrata, and Ashtalakshmi Puja are also performed during Shravana Shukrawaram.
In 2019, Shravana Shukravaram dates are – August 2, August 9, August 16, August 23 and August 30. Mahalakshmi Sthapana Pooja is on August 2 and Varalakshmi Vratham is on August 9.
In 2018, Shravana Shukravaram dates are – August 17, August 24, August 31 and September 7. Mahalakshmi Sthapana Pooja is on August 17 and Varalakshmi Vratham is on August 24.
In 2017, Shravana Shukravaram dates are – July 28, August 4, August 11 and August 18. Mahalakshmi Sthapana Pooja is on July 28 and Varalakshmi Vratham is on August 4.
