It is Shravan Amavasya in North Indian Hindi calendar. Marathi, Gujarati, Telugu & Kannada calendars consider it as Ashada Amavasya. Aadi Amavasya and Karkidakam Karuthu Vavu are the names of this amavasya in Tamil and Malayalam calendars respectively.
