Shani Amavasya 2021 | Shanaischari Amavasya

Shani Amavasya is a No Moon day which falls on Shanivar, Saturday. It is very auspicious to perform Shiva Pujan, Shani Pujan, Navagraha Pujan, Hanuman Pujan, Devi Puja and Pitru Tharpanam. In 2021, Shani Amavasya falls twiice – in March and December.

Shani Amavasya – 13 March 2021

This Shani Amavasya is Magha Amavasya as per the Amavasyant Panchangam followed in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Gujarat. It is Phalgun Amavasya as per North Indian Hindi calendars (Purnimant Panchangam).

And it is Kumbham Month Amavasya in Malayalam calendar, Maasi Amavasai in Tamil calendars, Maagh Amabashya in Bengali and Nepali calendars.

This Shani Amavasya is Margashirsha Amavasya as per the Amavasyant Panchangam followed in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Gujarat. It is Poush Amavasya as per North Indian Hindi calendars (Purnimant Panchangam).

And it is Vrischikam Month Amavasya in Malayalam calendar, Karthikai Amavasai in Tamil calendars, Kartik Amabashya in Bengali and Agrahan Amavasya in Nepali calendars.

Shani Shinganapur in Maharashtra, Sri Shaneshwara temple at Neural in Mumbai, Shanidham at Fatehpur Beri at Mehrauli area in New Delhi, Mandapalli Shani Temple in East Godavari district of AP (Mandheshwara Swamy Temple), and Shani Temple at Vargal near Hyderabad in Medak district of Telangana are some of the best temples to offer Shani Puja on Shani Amavasya.

Shani Dosha Nivarana Puja, Shani Japam, Shani Homam, and Shani Thailabhishekam are the popular pujas to be held on Shani Amavasya.
