Goddess Shailputri is the first among the nine Navadurga Goddesses. Shailputri mata is worshipped on the first day during Durga Navratri Pooja. In 2021, Maa Shailaputri Puja date October 7 in Ashwin Navratri and April 13 in Chaitra Navratri. The Goddess is worshipped on Kalash Sthapana or Ghatsthapana day.
Appearance and Iconography of Maa Shailaputri:
Goddess Shailaputri has a half moon in her forehead and rides a bullock. Shailputri holds a Trishul (lance) in her right hand and a lotus in her left hand. Shailaputri wears a light pink or white coloured saree.
