On September 19, 2012 at 10.30 am, the installation of the Pune Festival Ganpati idol at Hotel Saras, Nehru Stadium. The actor Tejaswini Lonari and the silver medalist in shooting at the London Olympics Vijay Kumar will participate.
The Pune Festival Award 2012 will be conferred upon shooters Vijay Kumar and Gagan Narang and author and playwright Satish Alekar. The shooters are medalist at the London 2012 Olympic Games
The Ganesh Sthapana and ‘aarti’ will mark the inaugural ceremony of Pune festival. On the occasion of his birth centenary year, Late Yeshwantrao Chavan, a film will be screened. The original voice clipping that 97 years old of Lokmanya Tilak will be aired.
‘Ganesh Vandana’ by Hema Malini and her daughters, Esha and Ahana will be held.
A special cultural presentation of traditional ‘Bihu dance ‘ by northeast students studying in Pune will be held.
‘Jai Ganesh’ – a dance conceptualized by Dhananjay Bahulekar and choreographed by Santosh Sankhad on Marathi and Hindi songs.
A felicitation programme for Ganesh Seva Mandal in Raviwar Peth for completion of 100 years will be held.
Actress Varsha Usgaonkar, Urmila Kanetkar, Bhargavi Chirmule and Tejaswini Lonari will give away prizes for topper in grand finale of ‘lavani and mujra fusion’, presented by Malini and choreographed by Nikita Moghe.
