Periyapalayam Bhavani Amman Temple Kumbabhishekam, Chennai… The Bhavani Amman Temple at Periyapalayam near Chennai attracts a large number of devotees. Goddess Bhavani is the presiding deity of the temple and thousands of devotees visit the temple on weekends, during the months of Aadi and Aavani. It is 45 km far away from Chennai. I have once visited this temple during the year 2014, and had marvellous darshan of our Holy Mother Ma Bhavani Amman of Periyapalayam. During the year 2014, I have visited several temples in and around Chennai with the intention of performing the Holy Teertha Yatra in our famous ‘CHENNAPPATINAM’.
Throughout the year, devotees throng the temple with their families to seek the blessings of the Goddess. Devotees throng the temple in large numbers on weekends to have the darshan of Goddess Bhavani. The temple administration has made all arrangements for the devotees to have a good darshan. They also maintain the temple well.
After a gap of 16 years, the consecration ceremony of Bhavani Amman Temple in Periyapalayam was held in a grand manner on 12.07.2024 Friday between 5.00 am to 6.30 am. Special pujas and special homas were performed on the occasion of Kumbabhishekam. Maha Purnahuti, Yatra Daan took place in the morning. Then the procession took place in the prakara of the urns containing holy water. This was followed by Maha Kumbabhishekam by pouring holy water on the temple tower.

The Kumbabhishekam ceremony of the famous Bhavani Amman Temple in Periyapalayam village in Tiruvallur district began with Yaga Kalasa Pooja. The Kalash water was taken in a procession to the temple.
In this situation, the consecration of the Gopuram Kalasas, Bhavani Amman and other
deities were performed by the Sivacharyas with Kalasa water. Kalash water was then sprinkled on the Pathas. Later, special pujas and Holy Bath (Abishekam) were performed to Goddess Bhavani.
A large number of devotees participated in the consecration ceremony and had darshan of Goddess Bhavani. Meanwhile, more than 100 police personnel were deployed for security duty. Following this, Annadhanam was offered to the devotees for darshan of the deity.
