Sri Vanadevathai Sri Periyanayaki Angalamman Temple Kumbabhishekam… The Maha Kumbabhishekam of the newly built Sri Vanadevatha, Periyanayaki, Angalamman, Sri Vinayagar Panchabhootham Sri Madurai Veeran Temple at Udayarpalayam Chitrikkari, Ariyalur District was held on Thursday, 14.12.2023.

Devotees and the public participated and sought the divine grace.

The temple management conducted Kumbabishekham during the year 2023, to this Amman Temple, and that sacred event takes place wonderfully, during that time, Ma Angalamma was decorated with flower garlands, and beautiful saris offered to her by the devotees, and devotees joyfully celebrated this event, by considering it to be their own family function, and the holy mother looks very attractive and beautiful, and she has stolen the hearts of her devotees. Angalamma is a very powerful goddess, and fulfils the wishes of her devotees instantly.

Kumbabhishekam also known as Consecration ceremony, is a famous ritual held in the temples, once in 12 years, in order to add more spiritual powers to the deities present in the temple, and it is also performed in order to honour, and to pay our great respects to the almighty. During the time of Kumbabhishekam, Holy Water would be fetched from the sacred rivers, and the deities present inside the temple, as well as the Gopura Kalasam would be bathed with the Holy water, since it is believed that the powers of the deities present even at the top of the Temple Gopuram.

Angala Parameswari Amman or Angalamman is a form of goddess Parvathi. (The Origin is Melmalayanoor). Most of the Tamil Nadu people’s Kula Deivam is Angala Parameswari Amman. My Kula Deivam also is Angala Parameswara Amman Temple which is situated in Keerakara Veedi, Erode -1.

Ankalamma is a non-Vedic deity and, like so many grama devatas, she seems to have originated in a fierce guardian figure. Sacred areas of Ankalamma and traditional Hindu deities are worshipped symbolically to appease the inner destructive impulses in us. Fowl or lamb offerings are made in village annual ceremonies and these are later consumed as food. Ankalamma’s shrines are usually located outside of the village in groves of trees. They are usually not proper temples, but very simple stone structures.
