Temples to visit near Penuganchiprolu Tirupatamma Temple. Vedadri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, Tirumalagiri Venkateshwara Swamy Temple, Muktyala Mukteshwara Swamy Temple and Nemali Venugopala Swamy Temple are the popular places to visit around Penuganchiprolu.

Sri Yogananda Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy, Vedadri

The Vedadri Narasimha Swamy temple is located on the river Krishna, approximately 10 km from Jaggaiahpeta town and 18 kilometres away from Penuganchoprolu temple. Here the main deity is Yogananda Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy varu. The Lord here exists in five forms known as Pancha Narasimha Moorthy, namely Jwala Narasimha on vedasikhara of the mountains, Salagrama Narasimha in the River Krishna, Yogananda Narasimha erected by sage Rishya Sringa, as Lakshmi Narasimhar on his own peetam and Veera Narasimha on Garudadri situated at a distance of 5 km from east to Vedadri.

Sri Venkateswara Swamy Varu, Tirumalagiri

Located 9 km away from Penuganchiprolu temple, this is one of the most unique lord Venkateswara temples. The Name of the deity is “Swayambu Valmikodbhava Sri Venkateswara Swamy varu” and is located on a hilltop, manifested in a stone image along with a big ant hill behind. Four temples of Sri Anjaneya Swamy are seen in the nearby Tirumalagiri Hills which attract a lot of devotees.

Sri Mukteswara Swamy Vari Temple, Muktyala

Located 30 k.m.s away from Penuganchiprolu temple, this kshetra dates back to Tretayuga and is said that Sri Rama visited this thirtha kshetra along with his wife Sita and worshipped this Temple’s Spatica Linga installed by Bali Chakravarthy.

The river Krishna flows in the northern direction instead of the usual eastern. A bath in the sacred river is believed to wash off sins committed knowingly or unknowingly. Viswakarma built a golden temple realising its sacrosanct glory. Krishna Mahatya eulogizes it, with the episode of Bali Chakravarthi’s installing crystal linga now worshipped in the Mukteswara temple. This Bhavani’s shrine is quite ancient and was endowed lavishly by the ruling princes.

The sthalapurna claims its construction to the devout king Narasimha Padmanabha belonging to Aitreya dynasty. Having enjoyed liberal royal patronage, it is architecturally imposing in dimensions and sculpturally enticing. There are many inscriptions testifying to its splendid past. The Mother’s icon is superbly sculptured and her pleasant facial features are quite arresting and so win the admiration of everyone.

Sri Venu Gopala Swami Temple, Nemali

Located 40 km away from Penuganchiprolu Temple, Lord Venu Gopala Swamy is Swayambhu here. The temple is attracting thousands of devotees every year. Rituals here are performed as per Vaikhanasa Agama.
