Lord Shiva is also called as Parvati Anugraha Moorthy, since he showers his abundant grace on to his beloved consort, Ma Parvati, like the vast ocean. Lord Shiva has purposefully sent Ma Parvati to the earth by giving curses to her, in order to propagate the “SHIVA BHAKTI” in the minds of the people. When Shakti Devi took the Sati Devi Avatar, and when she was immolated herself out of her spiritual powers, it was her beloved consort, Lord Shiva, who took the death body of Ma Sati on his shoulders, and began to dance and dance in a worried state of mind. Then Lord Vishnu has cut the body of Ma Sati Devi into 51 parts through his Sudarshana Chakra, and put all those parts on to the earth, in order to create 51 wonderful temples for Ma Sati Devi, and these temples are later known as “SHAKTI PEETH”.
During her next birth, she was brought up by Lord Himavan, the Lord of the Himalayas, also called as Parvatarajan, and his consort Ma Mena Devi. She has been named as Parvati, which means, the daughter of Lord Parvatarajan. After Parvati reached her teenage, she began to undergo severe penance on Lord Shiva in Mount Himalayas, and after some time, Lord Shiva had appeared before her, blessed her by showering his utmost grace on her, and took her to his abode, the Holy Mountain Kailash.
