Paadal Petra Sthalangal in Kumbakonam

Kudavayil, Kudavasal temple is located at a distance of 15 km from Kumbakonam, cauvery south bank. Kollampudhur (Thirukkalamboor) shrine is located at a distance of 6 km southwest of Kudavasal, it is perfectly situated on the cauvery south bank. Thirukkottaiyur temple is located at a distance of 2 km northwest of kumbakonam, it is situated on the cauvery north bank.

Thiru Innambar temple is situated at a distance of nearly 6 km northwest of kumbakonam, it is located on the bank of cauvery north. Thirupurambayam temple is located at a distance of about 9 km northwest of Kumbakonam, it is nearly 3 km near innambar and on the bank of cauvery north.

Thiruvalanchuzhi temple is located at a distance of nearly 4 km west of Kumbakonam, cauvery south bank. Pateeswaram temple is situated at a distance of about 6 km southwest of Kumbakonam, it is on the bank of cauvery south. Thirusathimutram temple is located next to pateeswaram and near cauvery south bank and Pazhayarai Vadathali temple is located at a distance of about 2 km from patteeswaramabove and near Cauvery south bank.

It is to be highly noted that the city of Kumbakonam is blessed with 20 temples of Lord Shiva that are listed in the Paadal Petra Sthalangal. They are as follows.

Thirukumbeswarar temple is situated in the heart of Kumbakonam town. Kudanthai Keezhakkottam temple is located at the east of Kumbakonam bus stand. Kudanthai Kaaronam temple is near Porthamarai Kulam in Kumbakonam.

Thirunageswaram temple is located at distance of 5 km east of Kumbakonam, it is on the cauvery south bank. Thirukkalayanalloor, (sakkottai) temple is situated at a distance of about 5 km southeast of Kumbakonam, it is on the bank of Cauvery.

Thiru Sivapuram temple is located at a distance of just 2 km northeast of Sakkottai, south bank of Arasalaar. Thirunaraiyoor temple is located at a distance of approximately10 km southeast of Kumbakonam, it is just adjacent to Nachiyar Koil, Cauvery south bank.

Thirukarukkudi (marudhanthanalloor) temple is situated at a distance of nearly 8 km southeast of Kumbakonam, it is located on Cauvery south bank. Thiruppenu Perundhurai (Thiruppanthurai) temple is situated at a distance of about 3 km northeast of nachiyarkoil/thirunaraiyoor, it is located on the south bank of Cauvery.

Arisikkarai Puthur (azhagaputhur) temple is located at a distance of nearly 3 km northwest of nachiyarkoil/thirunaraiyur on the cauvery south bank. It is to be noted that Thirucherai temple is situated at a distance of about 5 km south of nachiyar koil, it is just 15 km southeast of Kumbakonam, on the cauvery south bank. These temples are hot spot during the festive eve of Shivarathri.
