Kumbabhishekam also known as Consecration ceremony, is a famous ritual held in the temples, once in 12 years, in order to add more and more divine powers to the deities present in the temple, and it is also performed in order to honour the great almighty.

Kumbabishekams are being done in order to renovate the entire temple and to recharge the powers of the deities present in the temple by the way of reciting mantras, performing Homams, doing prayers and Abhishekams (Holy Bath) and this method was practicable since Vedic times.

Arulmigu Manickanachiar Amman Temple is situated at Kalyanapuram, Thiruvidaimaruthur Taluk, and though this is a small temple, but it is a beautiful temple, and whoever visits this temple would get good peace of mind and they would be relieved from stress and tensions. The last consecration ceremony of this marvellous temple took place during the year 2011, and after a gap of 12 years, now again the wonderful sacred Kumbabishekham ceremony is going to be held on 29th June 2023. During this auspicious event, devotees in large numbers, used to gather inside the temple, in order to have a glimpse of their beloved sweet mother goddess Ma Manickanachiar, and also to get sprinkled the holy water on their body, since it is considered to be a most worshipful act.

Youngsters used to visit this temple towards seeking for a bright future, like good education, job and for a good life partner. Donating lamp oil is auspicious, and devotees used to donate lamp oil at this temple, and would pray to the mother goddess in order to light lamp on their lives. This temple would be kept open for public view mostly only during evenings, and while entering into the temple, devotees must carefully step in to the temple, since a big stone slab was laid on the temple entrance, in order to make the devotees to walk easily inside the temple.

Manickanachiar Amman is also worshipped by the local people as their village deity, also popularly known as “Grama Devata” and puja would be done to her mostly by the Non-Brahmin priest, and she would be seen well decorated with flowers and flower garlands especially during Tuesdays, Fridays, Sundays and other festival days.
