Lolark Shashti is an auspicious day dedicated to Sun God (Surya Bhagawan). It falls on the 6th day in bright half of Bhadrapada Month (Bhadrapada Shukla Sashti). In 2021, Lolark Sashti date is September 12.
It is mainly celebrated in Varanasi and some other parts of Uttar Pradesh and North India.
Lolark Sashti is considered auspicious to perform Arghya to Sun God. Thousands of devotees perform holy bath in Lolark Kund and Bhadaini at Varanasi. Special food items are offered as Naivedya to Surya Bhagavan.
