Pingali Lakshmikantam (1894-1972) was born in a village in Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh in a pious Telugu family, and he was a famous poet and a good writer. His ancestor was the great poet Sri Tikkana.
He had studied up to graduation, and he was good in penning wonderful poems at his young age itself. Lakshmikantam worked in a court at Vijayawada. After some years, he worked in the Andhra University. He coached the students properly and got good name.
He also worked as a professor at Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati. Lakshmikantam played various devotional dramas in which he acted in the role of Arjuna, Dharmaraja and Sri Krishna. While participating in the drama shows, he has become the character itself, and received well appreciation from the audiences. He was an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu and Mata Lakshmi, and went to Tirumala for several times in his life, and worshipped Lord Venkateswara.
