Guru Raghavendra Swamy of Mantralayam
Similar to worshipping our Kula Devata, we can consider Guru Raghavendra as our Kula Guru and worship him. In fact, Guru Raghavendra served as Kula Guru to few kings during his period. Since Lord Krishna states, that he was the great demon Prahalada amongst the demons, we can also consider Guru Raghavendra as an aspect of Lord Krishna, and worship him as our beloved Guru and Kula Guru.
God used to send only certain special people to the world to serve as his spiritual messengers, and amongst them, Guru Raghavendra is a great Spiritual Messenger, since he has taken birth in the earth, only for the purpose of removing the obstacles in the lives of his devotees. Why I am insisting the Hindus to worship Guru Raghavendra as their saviour is, since he has done many miracles in the lives of his devotees, and still he is actively doing! He has also got the powers to send some of his sincere devotees to the Swarga Loka after the completion of his Mahasamadhi state, that is,before his soul reach to the Brahma Loka.
There is no difficulty in worshipping Guru Raghavendra Swamy, since he has not prescribed any tough puja procedure to worship him, just by chanting the simple mantra, “OM SRI GURU RAGHAVENDRA NAMAHA” itself would make wonders in the lives of his devotees. There is no need to promote the significance of Guru Raghavendra amongst the people, since at present he has already got millions and millions of people as his devotees. In fact, before becoming a saint, he has undergone severe hardships in his life like leaving his family in a difficult state etc. But after he became a saint, he lived his life in a selfless manner. He moved cordially even with some of the Muslim kings, and nobody could harm him, since with his pleasing smile and with his charming face, he made even the tough Muslim Kings as his friends.
Guru Raghavendra moved closely with kings, learned pundits and gave sufficient explanations to them with regard to spiritual matters. We can consider and always worship him as our best spiritual Guru, for getting good betterment in our life.
