Lord Krishna Glitters Like Gold

Krishna as Damodara

Krishna as Damodara

Lord Krishna glitters like the god, and he contains a sparkling face. Among his various stages of life cycle, his childhood is considered as a very glorious stage, since he is still worshipped as Child Krishna by the devotees, and in the Udupi and Guruvayur temples, Lord Krishna is worshipped in the form of a child. In general, everyone would like to embrace the child, and especially if it is a cute one. Lord Krishna though had taken his avatar before 5000+years ago, but still he is remembered and worshipped by his devotees, especially in the form of a child, since he appears very handsome.

Even at the later stage of his life, as per the wishes of his mother Devaki and his consort Rukmani, he had transformed himself in the form of a child, and had done lot of playful activities before them for a few minutes. Since most of us prefers to worship the god in the form of a child, the pictures of Lord Child Krishna still decorates in most of the Hindu households. Lord Krishna is a selfless god, and he equally treats all of his devotees, irrespective of their caste, creed, community and religion. The great Jagannath Devotee, Sri Salabega though he belonged to Islamism, but he considered Lord Krishna as his sweet god, and written lot of bhakti poems in praise of him.

In some of the poems of Bhakta Meera, Lord Krishna is compared similar to the gold and other precious ornaments. Lord Krishna is priceless, and his main purpose of incarnation is to inculcate bhakti in the minds of the people, and to make them to travel peacefully in the path of spirituality. During his period, the radiance on his face had blinded the Dwaraka people, and due to that, they had believed that he is a divine incarnation.

Though he is a supreme incarnation of Lord Vishnu, but he didn’t show his pride before other deities, and he used to regularly perform Surya Namaskaram to Lord Surya Bhagavan, and also worshipped Lord Shiva and other deities.

But in this today’s world, once, if we possess a healthy body with sufficient wealth, then we are forgetting the god itself, and sometimes we are disinterested to offer our prayers to the almighty also.

Lord Krishna is ready to dwell in the homes of all of his devotees, if they contain the selfless bhakti on him. He has shown his divine presence before his staunch devotees like Kururamma, Vilwamangala Swamigal, Tukaram, Eknath and Dnyaneswar, and likewise he is interested to live as our child in our homes also. But we are calling him to our homes only during “KRISHNA JAYANTHI” festival day, by drawing his small foot in the form of Kolams.

Though we prepare sufficient sweets and snacks for offering it to Child Krishna on the auspicious day of Krishna Jayanthi, but immediately after the completion of the puja, we are taking the snacks and sweets from the puja room, and urgently distributing it to our family members. But that is not a good practice, and we must have to believe that Lord Krishna itself would come to our homes, in the form of a small boy in an invisible form and would partake with our Prasad. Hence after the performance of puja, we should shut down our puja room door for a few minutes, and then only we must have to open it, and must eat the sweets and snacks along with our friends and family members, by believing that Lord Krishna might have eaten some of our holy Prasad items.

We should always remember one thing that god doesn’t require anything from us but by considering him as a supreme person, we must willfully offer the food items to him on a daily basis.
