Ma Kempamma Devi Temple is situated in Ulsoor, Bangalore, and this temple was constructed before few centuries ago. This Devi is famous for solving marriage related problems, mensuration problems and would relieve the diseases of her devotees in a wonderful manner. We can perform milk bath to the holy mother Kempamma Devi, and we can also adorn lemon garlands to her during Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Separate shrines are available for Lord Vinayaka, Navagraha, Shiva and Durgai Amman. During Aadi month and Thai month, huge crowd would be there.
The eyes of the Amman’s deity look very beautiful. Chitra Pournami Puja is also grandly performed at this temple, and during that day, the Utsava deity of Amman would be carried out in a flower palanquin which looks very attractive. Kemp means red in Kannada, and hence Ma Kempamma is also called as the Red goddess.The temple is rich in art and architecture. Ancient kings who ruled this Ulsoor region used to decorate Ma Kempamma with various kinds of golden ornaments in order to show their love and affection on the holy mother. Divine temple i have been visiting for the past 55 years..Annual Flower pallaki of various Gods in Ulsoor and surrounding areas will take place in April..i remember loitering around with friends throughout the night visiting all temples eating snacks etc…Those days are gone now. Very nostalgic.
