Kakatiya Festival marks the beginning of Warangal Ramappa Temple’s 800th Anniversary celebrations. It will begin on December 21 at Warangal. The year 2012 marks the completion of construction of Ramappa Temple of Palampet which makes the Kakatiya architecture different and unique from all the temple architecture systems of India.
Inaugural functions of Kakatiya Festival would be organised for three days from December 21 at famous archeological sites of Kakatiya dynasty in Warangal. Thousand Pillar Temple at Hanamkonda, Warangal Fort, and Ramappa Temple are great symbols of the excellence of Kakatiya architecture.
In Warangal, there is a Shakti Peetha temple – Bhadrakali Temple, Hanamkonda where Navaratri utsavalu, Shakambari utsavalu and Ugadi are celebrated with utmost gusto.
