How to reach Sreekanteswaram Temple in Thiruvananthapuram

Sreekanteswaram Temple is 80 kms from the southern tip of India and lies in the city of Thiruvanthapuram, the green enchantress and the southernmost state capital of India. It is just mere 30 kms to the adjacent state border of Tamilnadu this pride of Kerala also hosts the southernmost airport of the country nearest to the island nations of Maldives and Sri Lanka.

Reaching by Air- Direct flights link the international airport in Trivandrum to Singapore, Middle East, Maldives and Sri Lanka. Air Asia, Air Arabia, Air India, Qatar Airways and Silk Air provide flights from abroad.

Air India, Indigo Airlines and Jet Airways connect Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata to the Domestic Terminal of Trivandrum. Jet Airways provides direct access to Bangalore. The city centre is only 6 kms from the airport and pre-paid cabs, autos and even KSRTC shuttle bus service enable quick to and fro transport.

Reaching by Rail – Trivandrum is an important Southern Railway Station and trains from Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Kanyakumari run daily while Veraval, Jammu, New Delhi, Guwahati, Dibrugarh have weekly/ bi-weekly/tri-weekly services. Situated opposite the railway station is the long-distance bus transport service and the local bus depot too is nearby.

Reaching by Road – Trivandrum is at the end of NH 47 between Salem and Kanyakumari through Coimbatore. SH1 runs from Trivandrum to Angamaly via Kottayam.

Frequent services are available by bus and taxi  to Kanyakumari, Kollam, Kottayam, Alleppey, Kochi, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode and Kannur from KSRTC Bus Stand, Thampanoor and East Fort. Services extend to important destinations like Chennai, Bangalore, Kovai in nearby states.
