Harihar Bhet Sawari at Ujjain Mahakal Temple is observed on Vaikunth Chaturdashi in Shukla Paksha of Kartik Month. In 2017, Harihar Bhet Sawari is celebrated on November 3.

The Sawari festival is also celebrated till Margashirsha Month (Agahan Month) as per the official calendar followed at Ujjain Temple of Madhya Pradesh.

Ujjain Mahakal Sawari is also celebrated in Shravan Month and Bhadrapada Month as per Hindu calendar.

Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga is one of the most famous Shiva Temples and is one of the Dwadasha Jyothirlinga Temples (13 ancient and most sacred temples dedicated to Lord Shiva).

Ujjain Mahakaleshwar Temple is located on the side of the Rudrasagar lake. Mahakaleshwar Shivalingam is believed to be Swayambhu (Self manifested). The consort for Mahakaal is Goddess Mahakali.

In 2016, Harihar Bhet Sawari date – November 12. The other Sawari festivals in Kartik Month –  31 October, 7 November, 14 November, 21 November and 28 November 2016.
