Ghatasthapana, Navratri Kalasha Sthapana – 13 October 2015

Today, 13 October 2015 is Ghatasthapana, Navratri Kalasha Sthapana. It marks the beginning of Durga Navaratri. It falls on Shukla Paksha Pratipada in Ashwin Month.

As we all know, each day of Navratri is dedicated to a form of Goddess Durga. Depending on the tradition, region, etc.. the paricular form of the Goddess is worshipped.

As part of Navadurga worship, the first Navadurga – Shailaputri Navadurga is worshipped on 13 13 October 2015.

As part of Navadevi worship, Balatripura Sundari Devi is worshipped on the first day of Navratri.

Maha Kali puja is celebrated as part of Dasamahavidya puja and in Saptamtrika worship, Brahmi puja is observed.

In North Indian states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh, Dasamahavidya and Navadurga are worshipped. In some South Indian temples, Navadurga Goddesses and Saptamatrukas or Ashtamatrukas are worshipped.

Note – In many Telugu calendars, Kalasha Sthapana Muhurtham is given on 14 October 2015. According to Telugu Panchangams, the auspicious muhurtham for Kalasha Sthapana on 14 October is – 6.03 AM to 9.57 AM.

    In Today’s Panchangam for October13,2015(Ghat-sthaapana) Krishna Paksha has been mentioned in place of Shukla Paksha by mistake.
