Now you needn’t go all the way to Tirupati temple for its famed laddus. You can grab one right here every Saturday at the Tirupati Tirumala Devasthanam (TTD) in Vyalikaval. Launched in 1955, the TTD in Bangalore started as an information centre. It helped city devotees visit Tirupati without many hassles.
Secretary of the TTD trust in Bangalore K B Venkateshwara Rao said the centre has been able to achieve its purpose and has helped scores of devotees from Karnataka with information on various sevas held at the main shrine. The centre also facilitates darshan by issuing e-darshan tickets and accommodation at Tirumala in Andhra Pradesh.
He added that the new temple at Vyalikaval in Bangalore has opened for darshan. “The sevas starts from 5 am and the temple remains open till 9 pm.” According to TTD officials, poojas in Vyalikaval are akin to the ones conducted at the main shrine at Tirumala. “The laddus are priced at Rs 25 per piece. At present, we are getting 5,000 laddus and if that doesn’t suffice we’ll scale up the number,” officials said.
