Dhruvini was the daughter of the great Vishnu devotee Dhruva, and her details were mentioned in some of the ancient Holy Texts of Hinduism. Dhruvini was mentioned in the Holy epic Mahabharata, and she has shown greater devotion on Lord Vishnu, similar to her father Dhruva. As per her father’s advice, for some years, she has also undergone rigorous meditation on Lord Vishnu, in order to attain good prospects in her life.
She also lived like an ordinary woman in the palace of her father Dhruva, and performed food donation to the people at the palace on a regular basis. She never got married, even when several demi gods were ready to marry her. Once when few demons tried to forcefully touch her, she burnt them into ashes through her high spiritual powers. It is highly advisable to the females, especially the teenaged girls to keep chanting the Mantra, “OM MA DHRUVINI NAMAHA”, during the times of their lonely travels, in order to escape from the eyes of the evil minded people. Ma Dhruvini is a pious, chaste and a kind hearted woman, who contains the powers even to destroy the entire universe into ashes!
When Lord Vishnu was ready to grant her salvation, she has refused it, since she has decided to settle down at the Dhruva Mandala along with her father, Dhruva. Dhruvini is also considered to be an aspect of Ma Lakshmi Devi, and her name is also mentioned in the SAHASRA NAMAVALI (1008 NAMES) of Ma Lakshmi Devi. Ma Dhruvini dwells on the lips of those who chant the Vishnu Mantra and she dwells on the souls of those pious people who live their life in a righteous manner.
There is no end for Dhruvini, and she would exist even during the time of deluge. When Dhruva was settled down in his holy abode, the Dhruva Loka, along with him, his daughter, Dhruvini was also accompanied. It is believed that, still now she chants the “VISHNU MANTRA”, “OM NAMO NARAYANA”, at the Dhruva Loka continuously.
