As Dhanteras is also observed as Dhanvantari Jayanti, Lord Dhanvantari is also worshipped on this day along with Kubera, Lakshmi and Yama.

Dhanvantari Puja:

For better health and wellness, Lord Dhanvantari is worshipped. On this day, in the morning, at puja place spread a red cloth and place Dhanvantari image or idol on it. Offer Shodashopachar Puja or simply perform puja by chanting the below sloka (Mantra/stotra)..

Aham Hi Dhanvantari aadhidevo

Jaraarujamruthyu harom haraanaam |

Shalyangama angaira parairu petham

prapthosmi gaam bhooya ihopadeshtum ||

At the end perform Dhupa deepa and aarti. Dhanvantari Puja provides good health for the Sadhaka.

Dhan Trayodasi Kubera Puja:

Lord Kubera is the Dhanadhyaksha (treasurer) of Devatas. Puja to Him provides all types of wealth to the Sadhaka.

Deepavali Lakshmi Puja also includes Kuber Puja but the Kuber Puja which is performed on Dhan Trayodasi is even more auspicious and highly meritorious. Kubera Yantra Puja is performed on this day.

Yama Deepa Daan:

Yama Deepa Daan is a Vidhi of lighting lamps at both sides of the Simha Dwara (main door/gate) of your home. A quantity of rice is taken and spread across the place where you want to keep the diya.

While lighting diya, should chant the below mantra facing towards South direction..

Mruthyunaa Danda Paashabhyaam

Kaalena Shyamayaa saha |

Trayodashyam Deepadaanath Suryajah

Preeyatham mama ||

If possible, keep the diya lighting for whole night. By this, Lord Yama Dharma raja blesses you with long life & no untimely death, accident, diseases and other health failures will be happened.

Gotriratri Vrata

Gotriratri Vrata is a 3-night vrata dedicated to Gau Mata. Go Puja (Gau Pujan) is performed on this day as cow is considered as an aspect of Goddess Lakshmi. Gotriratri Vrata begins on Go Dwadasi day and ends on Deepavali Amavasya day.
