Buy Vinayaka idols on Vinayaka Chaturthi day.. PILLAYAR SILAI VANGALAIYO, IPPO VANGUNGO!
So far, if you haven’t purchase Vinayaka idol, now it’s the time for you to purchase!
This is the nice slogan raised by the Vinayaka Statue Vendors during the day of Vinayaka Chaturthi festival day. According to the issue raised by some vendors, that though they prepares Vinayaka idols using clay material, yet, some pollution control officials claims that their material was made up of using Plaster of Paris, and they also seizes those idols and destroys them, since plaster of Paris material cannot sink and dissolve into the water.
But however before taking such kind of extreme action, on those poor vendors, the officials must have to thoroughly check the reliability of the product, and then only, they have to take action on them. But since some so-called big people consider our Vinayaka as a strange/artificial/peculiar and non-existent god, proper attention is not taken on to that matter! Hindus are not pinpointing about the existence of other religious gods, and in fact, most of us used to keep our mouth tightly shut, with the belief, that we would land up with troubles!
I have never written any article hurting about our religious sentiments, beliefs and customs. God dwells on all other religions also. If Rama is welcomed by us, then we should also welcome Lord Jesus Christ, Prophet Mohammed and Lord Allah also! If we receive wishes for Vinayaka Chaturthi festival from our Christian and Muslim friends, then we should also convey our best wishes to Christmas and Ramzan to them. But at the same time, if any one insults or hurts our religious sentiments and beliefs, then we should explain to them about the significance of the great “SANATANA DHARMA”, by following the path of non-violence. Vinayaka Chathurti festival would be nicely celebrated with perseverance and enthusiasm by the devotees. Hindus firmly believed that Lord Vinayaka would remove their obstacles, and believed the existence of the first god Vinayaka. The main purpose of celebrating the Ganesh Chaturthi festival is to get rid from our sins, and to attain good knowledge and wisdom.
During this festival, people from all castes would come forward and would willingly celebrate their beloved god’s festival.
Now Ganesha idols are also made out of plants, mango leaves (Maavilai) and flowers, as an act of environment friendly, and still clay idols are made by the vendors, in order to get it sold like hot cakes during the Vinayaka Chathurti festival day.
After celebrating the holy festival Vinayaka Chaturthi, within a few days, the colourful clay idols of Lord Vinayaka, would be immersed on to the water bodies like ocean, River or on small ponds. The reason for doing like that is to bring good fortunes in our lives.
It is also believed, that since most of the idols of Lord Vinayaka are prepared using clay, and since the product clay would subject to breakage in course of time, hence, before the damage of the Vinayaka Idol, devotees are immersing it in water. It is also scientifically proved, that when clay is mixed with water, it would be absorbed with water, and due to that, even the contaminated water would be changed into pure, since the clay which was thrown out in the water is not an ordinary one, but it is actually the idol of Lord Vinayaka itself!
