Blessing Postures of Gods & Goddesses.. Significance of Blessing Postures of Gods & Goddesses in Hinduism.
We could observe the blessing posture of the deities in the temples, whereas one hand would faces upwards, the other hand would face downwards. And most of us are not aware about the significance of the different types of postures shown by the great almighty. The main reason behind showing the two different postures is to bless both the upper world celestials and the lower world people who live in the gigantic universe.
The 14 different Lokas present in the Universe are:
1. Brahmaloka
2. Tapaloka
3. Janaloka
4. Maharloka
5. Svargaloka
6. Bhuvarloka
7. Bhuloka
8. Atalaloka
9. Vitalaloka
10. Sutalaloka
11. Talatalaloka
12. Mahatalaloka
13. Rasatalaloka
14. Patalaloka
The great almighty faces one of his arms on the upwards in order to bless the living beings who live in the 1st to the 7thLoka, that is the Brahma Loka, Tapa Loka, Jana Loka, MaharLoka, SvargaLoka, BhuvarLoka and BhuLoka.
The great almighty faces one of his arms on the downwards in order to bless the living beings from the 8th to the 14thLoka, that is the under-world, Atala Loka, Vitala Loka, Sutala Loka, Talatala Loka, Mahatala Loka, Rasatala Loka and the Patala Loka.
The blessings of the almighty is needed for all the 14 Lokas, since without the blessings of the god, the entire universe would not be able to function properly. Due to his great mercy, the great almighty lend his helping hands on all the entire 14 Lokas created by him.
The people who live in the first six lokas are called as celestials and they contain great powers similar to the almighty, but still then, they need the required support and blessings from the almighty. Similar to the upper level celestials, the people who live in the bottom worlds also contain great powers. But the people who live in the 7thLoka, that is, in the earth contain only restricted powers, and they are to be considered only as Mortals.
