Bharat Ancient India

Bharat also known as Bharatam is the name of our ancient India. Bharat contains rich natural resources, and many famous kings were ruled it since several millions of years. The great Kings Dhruva, Prahalada and Mahabali had ruled over almost the entire world, and they have shown much attention for the prosperity of our Bharat country. Ancient sages were lived a very modest life, yet they lived their life very happily.

The great earth mother, Ma Bhudevi, gave all riches to our Bharat country, and she made all the lands as fertile. Food crops were grown properly and rain was showered in all seasons. Before the incarnation of the great Lord Jesus Christ, King Vikramadiya ruled over the Ujjain Kingdom, and he built many nice temples for his beloved goddess, Ma Kali Devi. Kings treated their learned poets with much respect, and considered them as their Holy Gurus, and provided all sorts of facilities to them.

Most of the kings were constructed lot of rest houses, guest houses and food shelters for the convenience of the tired travellers, and no one was left hungry in their kingdom. Deities used to appear in the dreams of the kings, and would ask to build temples for them. Some kings were even got the divine vision of the deities due to their good qualities. Yagnas and Pujas were done by the learned priests and sages, and they gave the oblation to the respective Devas during the fire sacrifices. Lot of temples were built by the ancient kings for the purpose of performing proper pujas to the deities.

But at the present stage of life, everything is drastically changed. In general, people are worshipping the god mechanically and urgently due to their busy schedule, and they even don’t have sufficient time to offer their prayers to them. Lot of youngsters are getting employed in foreign countries, and even some Brahmin people, are avoiding our daily rituals like doing the Sandhyavandanam, and still some people are disinterested to chant our Vedic Mantras, and they are also not interested to wear the holy sacred thread. Yagnas are rarely done in some temples, and in some places, only limited mantras are being chanted. Offering of oblation during the performance of fire sacrifices to the divine devas is highly questionable at this present period, since some gods names are not mentioned while performing the Yagnas.

The significance of Vedic deities is almost forgotten in this present period. Lord Varuna, Indra, Agni, Vayu, Yama, Surya and Chandra are very powerful Vedic deities, and they must be compulsorily worshipped by the Hindus. Similar to worshipping the main gods and goddesses, these deities have to be given much importance in our daily life. Our Hindu dharma is slowly decreasing day by day, due to the laziness of some Hindus.

The ancient customs and traditions must be strictly followed by each and every Hindu, and they must regularly light lamp in their homes, and also must perform puja to the deities. We should always remember that in the ancient India, most of the people have followed the Hindu rituals properly, and hence, they lived a very prosperous life. In order to make our modern India to prosper, let us follow our age old Hindu practices, and let us chant the glories of our Bharata Mata, who is none other than our holy earth mother, Ma Bhudevi.
