‘Bharat Pakistan Border Ka Raja’ is a Ganesh Mandal in Poonch, Jammu & Kashmir. In 2017, Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations begins on August 25 with Ganesh Chaturthi Pratham Pooja and ends with Udwasan Poojan on Anant Chaturdashi (Ganpati Visarjan) – September 5.
Also known as ‘Bharat-Pakistan Bordercha Raja’, the Ganpati Mandal of Poonch, which is located near the Line of Control – the de facto border with Pakistan, is organised by Shiv Durga Bhairav Trust.
This is the first time that this Trust has ordered the Ganesh idol from Mumbai-based Ganpati idol maker Uday Rane. This is the eighth year of Ganeshotsav celebrations for Bharat-Pakistan Ka Raja. The trust celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi with Maharashtrian flavour.
As told by one of the organisers of the trust they celebrate Ganpati festival to boost the morale of Indian Army men who are posted in Poonch. And she added ‘Army men from border areas take time off and come here for darshan of Lord Ganesh. We are proud that we can celebrate Maharashtrian festival in Jammu and Kashmir’.
