Adhivaraha Perumal Temple, Kumbakonam

Adhivaraha Perumal Temple, Kumbakonam… Sri Varaha is the avatar of Lord Vishnu who takes the form of a boar to rescue goddess earth from the ocean. Earth god, BhuDevi was once thrown out into the ocean by the powerful demon king Hiranyaksha, who was the brother of Hiranyakasipu. Lord Vishnu fought with Hiranyaksha, and destroyed him. This is a very important avatar, since Lord Vishnu has safeguarded the earth, by bringing it from the ocean, thereby restoring her place in the universe. He has taken this avatar in the first Yuga that is in SATYA YUGA also known as KRITA YUGA.

There are some wonderful temples dedicated to Lord Varaha in India, and one among those is situated at Kumbakonam. The chief deity Lord Varaha is known as Adhivaraha Perumal, and the deity is said to be a self-emanated one, and his loving consort is Ma Bhudevi. Vaikunta Ekadasi, Sri Varaha Jayanti and Garudasevai are the main festivals celebrated at this temple.

The Kumbabishekam (consecration ceremony) for this excellent temple was held in the year 2015.

Lord Varaha and Ma Bhudevi are mainly worshipped for developing a strong bondage between couples. Nowadays due to the changing scenario, more and more couples are opting for divorces in the family courts, and it seems that in future, most of the couples would get married in front of the family courts, before the honourable judges and respectful lawyers, in order to opt for divorces soon after their marriages!

The problem of performing second marriage or remarriage occurs, due to the non-adjustability between the married couples. At the present situation, even, some of those, who gets married after divorces, are not able to successfully lead their second marriage life also, and due to that, they are wilfully get separated from their life partners, and they are also again interested to again re-marry, and hence, they are briskly preparing themselves for their “THIRD MARRIAGE”. As per some people’s opinion, those who perform third marriage could lead the life of a cheerful bird, that’s by the way of happily flying on the skies!

In order to put an end for these types of problems, both unmarried and married people must worship Lord Varaha and Ma Bhudevi sincerely, and they also must visit their temples situated at various parts of South India.

As per the quote, “Marriages are made in heaven”, couples have to lead a heavenly life by removing their ego and must love each other unlimitedly!
