Durga Navratri at Kanakadurga temple of Vijayawada is a grand festival for the temple. Dasara Sharan Navaratri Utsavalu 2012 starts on October 16th and ends on October 24th with Dasara (Vijaya Dashami).
With Kalasha Sthapana Pooja, celebrations will start at the temple. On Padyami, the first day of Navarathri, Goddess Durga is decorated in Sri BalaTripura Sundari Devi Alankaram. On concluding day, Vijaya Dashami, Durga is worshiped in Sri Rajarajeshwari Devi Alankaram.

Day 6 – Ashwayuja Saptami – Maha Saptami– Sri Lalitha Tripurasundari Devi – 21 October 2012, Sunday
Day 7 – Ashwayuja Ashtami – Durga Ashtami– Sri Durga Devi – 22 October 2012, Monday
Day 8 – Ashwayuja Navami – Maha Navami– Sri Mahishasura Mardhini Devi – 23 October 2012, Tuesday
Day 9 – Ashwayuja Dashami – Vijaya Dashami– Dasara – Sri Rajarajeshwari Devi – 24 October 2012, Wednesday
On Vijaya Dashami, the Navaratri celebrations will be concluded with Teppotsavam when Kanakadurga is taken out for a procession in the river Krishna. Theppotsavam 2012 date is 24th October and the time of starting of Theppotsavam is 5 pm.
It is to be noted that Maha Saraswathi devi alankaram will be worshipped on Moola nakshatram day during Navarathri. In 2012, it falls on 20 October 2012.
