Karthika Somavar Vrata 2016, Auspicious Mondays in Kartik Month

Kartika Somavara Vratam is one of the pujas to observe on Mondays in Karthik month. In 2016, Kartik Somvar Vrata auspicious days are – October 17, October 24, October 31, November 7 and November 14 as per North Indian Hindi calendars.

As per Marathi, Gujarati, Telugu and Kannada calendars, the dates of Kartika Somavara Vratham in 2016 are – October 31, November 7, November 14, November 21 and November 28.

In 2016, Kartik Month begins on October 16 and ends on November 14 as per North Indian Hindi Calendar. Kartik Month begins on 31 October and ends on 29 November as per Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada & Telugu & Goa calendars.

Karthika Masam is dedicated to Lord Shiva as per the Panchangas followed in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Gujarat. Shivalinga Puja, Upavasa Vratham, Deeparadhana (lighting lamps) in Shiva temples, etc are the major rituals of Karthika Somavaram Vratham.

Telugu and Kannada people celebrate Karthika Somavara Vratam by visiting Shiva temples, performing punya snana in holy rivers such as Godavari, Krishna, Tungabhadra, Cauvery.

In North India, the similar puja and vratha are observed on Shravan Somvar days.

In 2015, Kartik Somvar Vrata auspicious days are – November 2, November 9, November 16 and November 23 as per North Indian Hindi calendars. As per Marathi, Gujarati, Telugu and Kannada calendars, the dates of Kartika Somavara Vratham in 2015 are – November 16, November 23, November 30 and December 7.

In 2014, Kartik Somvar Vrata auspicious days are – October 13, October 20, October 27 and November 3 as per North Indian Hindi calendars. As per Marathi, Gujarati, Telugu and Kannada calendars, the dates of Kartika Somavara vratham in 2014 are – October 27, November 3, November 10 and November 17.
