Sri Periyalwar Utsavam will be celebrated from 24 June to 3 July 2017 at Sri Lakshmi Narayanaswamy Temple, a sub temple at Sri Govindarajaswamy Temple, Tirupati.
As a part of these celebrations, every morning and evening, Sri Sri Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamy and Sri Sri Sri Chinnajeeyarswamy will give discourses on Prabhanda Pashurams. On last day, 3 July 2017, Thirumanjanam is offered to Periyalwar. In the evening, a procession of Sri Govindarajaswamy on Garuda Vahanam and Sri Periyalwar on Gaja Vahanam will be taken out in Mada Streets.
Sri Periyalwar was the ardent devotee of Sri Mahavishnu. He was the father of Sri Andal Ammavaru. Sri Periyalwar used to offer Tulasi Malas everyday to Swamy.
