Lord Vishnu is the one who grants salvation to his devotees, and this can be explained with the help of an example.
Once, there was a Pandya King, whose name was Vallabhadevan, and once, he had got a doubt, that among the several deities in Hinduism, which deity would grant salvation easily! He has also announced huge prize money for those who give suitable answer for his question. But however, no one was able to give a proper answer to him.
King Vallabhadevan had tied a bag containing golden coins on the top of the roof of his palace, with the belief that whoever tells the correct answer, then automatically, the bag would open and gold coins would flow on his hands. But no one was able to get the gold coins, since their answers were not satisfied by the great almighty. Then, one night, Lord Vishnu appeared in the dream of the great Sri Vishnu Sitthar, and asked him to tell the correct answer, in order to get the bagful of gold coins. Vishnu Sitthar who was famously known as Periazwar had agreed, and went to the palace of the king on next day morning, and told in front of the king that Lord Vishnu alone could grant salvation in an easy manner to his devotees.Immediately, the bag which was tied on the top of the roof of the palace was opened, and gold coins began to pour on the hands of the great Vishnu Sitthar.
The king Vallabhadevan was very much impressed with the wonderful act of Periazwar, and henceforth, he accepted Lord Vishnu as his main deity, and also built few temples for Lord Vishnu.
From the above incident, we could knew, that how the great Lord Vishnu showers mercy towards his sincere devotees, and also grants salvation to them easily. We can also take the example of Dhruva, Dhruva has been granted the boon of becoming a star in the skies at his young age itself, and he has performed meditation only for six months on Lord Vishnu, but, since he has shown great bhakti towards Vishnu, he was awarded the very big position to shine as a supreme star in the skies.
Once, Lord Vishnu had made Adishankara to realise about the significance of the holy text, “VISHNUSAHASRANAMAM”, which contains the thousand wonderful names of Lord Vishnu, through Ma Balatripura Sundari Devi, an infant form of Ma Shakti Devi, and as a result, Adishankara has written a wonderful commentary for Vishnusahasranamam and beautified it.
Once, Lord Vishnu send the Temple Holy Prasad through the temple priest to Sri Kuratazhvar and his consort, Andal, when both them were starved without food.Likewise, Prahalada has attained the entire grace of Lord Vishnu due to his sincere devotion, but, however, since Lord Vishnu wants him to do service to the people in this difficult Kaliyuga, prahaladahas been taken birth as “GURU RAGHAVENDRA SWAMY”, and he is sincerely doing the service to the god as well as to the mankind.
