Varalakshmi Vratham in Tiruchanur Padmavathi Ammavari Temple is a grand celebration. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, TTD, makes all arrangements to accommodate thousands of devotees in the temple on the eve of the puja. In 2017, Varalakshmi Vratham date in Tiruchanur Padmavathi Ammavari Temple is August 4.

This is observed as ‘Samuhika Varalakshmi Vratham’, the mass observance where thousands of women perform this vrata at the same place at a time.

Tiruchanur Padmavathi Ammavaru is decked up in the form of Varalakshmi Mata on this day and blesses her devotees with happiness, wealth and prosperity.

The women offer pujas to propitiate the goddess and seek her blessings for prosperity and well-being of their families. It was estimated that nearly 1 lakh devotees visit the temple on the day.

The Utsavamurthi (processional deity) of Goddess Padmavathi is taken out in a procession atop the Bangaru Ratham (Golden Chariot) around four mada street of Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple, Tiruchanur on Friday evening.

This event is being telecasted live online by TTD’s SVBC TV Channel.

Arrangements for Varalakshmi Vratham on August 4, 2017

Two devotees could participate in one ticket of Rs.500. 200 tickets were available in current booking and another 200 tickets available at online. The The participants will be presented one Angavastram, one blouse, two laddus and two vadas as lords prasadams.

As part of the Varalakshmi vratam, special rituals will be held at the Padmavathi Ammavari temple and a procession of the deity on golden chariot in the evening besides bhajans and other cultural events on the day of Varalakshmi vratham.

In view of the Vratam all other darshans like Abhisekhanantaran darshan, Kumkumarchana, Lakshmi Pooja, Kalynotsavam and Unjal seva were cancelled.
