7 July 2024 – Varahi Navaratri 2nd day Pooja Timings, 2nd day Stotram or Mantram and 2nd day Goddess to worshipped is given here. In 2024, Varahi Navaratri begins on July 6 and ends on July 15. The second day of Varahi Navaratri falls on the second day of Ashada Masam in Hindu Calendar.
As we know, Varahi Mata has various forms and alankarams. On second day of Navaratri, Sumukhi Varahi Devi is worshipped and Sumukhi Varahi Mantram and Sumukhi Varahi Stotram is chanted.
Varahi Navratri is celebrated with lot of fervor in Varahi Temple in Chaurasi of Orissa and MahaVarahi Temple in Ulsoor, Bangalore. Goddess Varahi Devi appears with the face of a boar and worshipped as Tantric Goddess. Varahi Nigrahastakam and Varahi Anugrahastakam are the popular prayers dedicated to Goddess Varahi Devi.

According to the Shumbha-Nishumbha story of the Devi Mahatmya from the Markandeya Purana religious texts, the Matrikas goddesses appears as shaktis (feminine powers) from the bodies of the gods. The scriptures say Varahi was created from Varaha. She has a boar form, wields a chakra (discus) and fights with a sword.
