In newly constructed Tirumala Ganga Devi Temple at Papavinasanam, Mahasamprokshana has been performed with religious fervor today, 19 January 2013. As per the Scriptures, among 12 sacred teerthas located in Tirumala Seshachala ranges, Papavinasanam is considered as the most sacred one.
Teertham means the holy river Ganges. Where the river Goddess is worshipped, there will be no scarcity of food and water.
From the past three days, a team of archakas led by Mani Gurukul and Ganesh Gurukul performed Vighneshwara Puja, Maha Ganapathi Homam on January 16, Nitya Homam and Astabandha Samarpana on January 17 and Kalasa Udwasana and Maha Kumbhabhishekam today, 19 January.
Devotees offered prayers to Goddess Ganga Devi in larger numbers.
