The Two Stories told by Draupadi to Yudhishtira

The Two Stories told by Draupadi to Yudhishtira.. During the time of their stay in their forest, the Pandavas and Ma Draupadi were looked in a depressed state. Draupadi felt angry with her consort Yudhishtira, since she considered that he was the main person behind their sorrows. However, being a chaste and a noble wife, she controlled her anger, and began to exchange soft words with him. She also told few stories from the Holy texts, as an advisory act to Yudhishtra.

STORY NO.1

Once child Mahabali began to ask few questions to his grandfather, the great Prahalada, and he also got suitable answers from his grandfather.

“Oh my dear grandfather, which is the best one to be adopted in our life, anger or patience? Since you are a righteous person, you have to tell about these things to me”.

On hearing that, Prahalada began to reply, “Oh my dear grandson, Bali, we can’t adopt both patience and anger at all times, and based on the circumstances, we have to adopt it in an amicable manner. Those who observe strict patience in their life would not be respected even by their own servants, and if they show more patience, then others would take advantage on that, and they would try to tease them.

Those who adopt anger would be distanced from their own family and friends, and everyone would get afraid of them. Through their anger, even they would lose their wealth and problems like enmity, curse and lack of protection would occur. The entire world would wait for the appropriate time to cause harm to such kind of persons, and anger would lead to severe destruction.

Hence, a person must maintain patience, and control his anger based on the circumstances and also he has to maintain it during the times, when he is compelled to do so.

When, a person does any help previously, and if he commits any mistakes in future, we should not punish him, by remembering his previous help.

When a person commits mistakes due to ignorance, we should pardon his mistake.

When a person commits any mistakes willfully, but if he tells that he has done it due to ignorance, then we should kill such type of bad person.

Bali has received proper clarifications from his grandfather Prahalada, and he praised him for his great knowledge and wisdom.

STORY NO.2

The great Bhagavata Dhruva after receiving boons from Lord Vishnu began to rule his kingdom in a prosperous manner. Once he bravely waged a war with the soldiers of Kubera, with the belief that they killed his half-brother Uttama. But after his grandfather Lord Manu intervened, and asked him to stop waging a war with the soldiers of Kubera, Dhruva has stopped the war, and in return for that, Dhruva also received few boons from Kubera,he happily went to his kingdom, and ruled it for many years in a prosperous manner.

After telling this wonderful story to Yudhishtira, Ma Draupadi told to him, when Dhruva was able to wage a war with the soldiers of Kubera at his young age itself, then why can’t you wage a war with the Kauravas now itself, in order to get back our kingdom!

On hearing these words from the mouth of his noble consort, Yudhishtira smiled at her, and replied, “Hey Draupadi, I am having the powers to burn the entire Kauravas into ashes through my anger itself. But since I am following the path of Dharma, I don’t want to do like that. Let us patiently wait till our tenure, and after that, I would definitely wage a war with Kauravas, and would restore my kingdom”.

After hearing these words, Ma Draupadi kept quiet, and from then onwards, she was able to borne the sorrows in a calm manner, by worshipping Lord Krishna.
