Solaiamman Temple in Ayanavaram

There is a small temple dedicated for Solaiamman in Ayanavaram, and the temple is situated just a few kilometres far away from the ESI Hospital, Ayanavaram and Mental Hospital, Kilpauk. Amongst several Amman temples in Tamil Nadu, this temple is also famous for Aadi month Utsavam, and most of the Amman devotees used to visit this temple during Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. While I was in Ayanavaram, I used to visit this temple along with my mother, and since this temple is situated in a calm atmosphere, I even used to perform meditation for a few minutes at this temple.

Since this temple is located nearby hospitals, some of the patients from ESI Hospital would also visit this temple, in order to get remedy for their diseases. Parents would even take their mentally affected children from the Kilpauk Mental Hospital to this temple, and some of them have got a miraculous recovery from their ailment. This Solaiamman acts as a Kula Devata even for some of the people who lives in abroad. Whenever we watch the deity of the Holy Amman, we could get a pleasant feeling, which we cannot describe in words, and within that few minutes time, we could forget about worldly matters and family worries.

Some devotees used to visit this Solaiamman temple even from faraway places by staying in the lodges located in the Ayanavaram area. Marriages are also being held at this temple with the belief that the marriage relationships would last permanently. During Aadi month, nice Amman songs would be played in the music players, especially songs sung by the famous Singer L.R.Easwari, which would provide a big feast to our ears.

At this present period of life, most of the people suffer from tensions, stress and mental agony.Even if they have enough money to spend, but they don’t have sufficient peace of mind, hence let them visit this peaceful Solaiamman Temple, in order to get permanent peace of mind, without spending any money from their pocket.
