Shri Dev Koleshwar, Kolthare, Ratnagiri

Shri Dev Koleshwar is located in a village named Kolthare, a bit away from the Dapoli Taluka of the district of Ratnagiri in the state of Maharashtra in western India. The primary deity of this temple is lord Shiva. Therefore it is a temple that is largely dedicated to Lord Shiva. In this temple, all kinds of pujas and rituals are conducted according to the Vedic practices and ancient Hindu rules and regulations. This shrine falls under the category of ancient Hindu Shiva temples in the state of Maharashtra.

During all the important religious days and auspicious days are marked with long hours in this temple. The temple’s timings are between 6.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and 4.00 to 930 p.m for devotees and pilgrims.

The most important festivals of this temple are Masi festival in January-February, Sapthami Puja in August-September, Mahasivarathri in January-February, Makara Sankranthi in January,  Navarathtri days, Oonjal festival on all Fridays, Amavasya,  Vaikunta Ekadashi, New Year day and pournima.

This temple witnesses a huge crowd of devotees on Fridays and Tuesday who attend and indulge in prayers and rituals with great devotion and dedication. According to the temple priest, the normal theertham that has the power to cure all kinds of disease and heal too. In this temple, Pilgrims and devotees are allowed to perform the pujas and rituals themselves only during the morning hours with a fee.

It is the most sought after temple in this region with great devotion and dedication. It can be easily reached by roadways and railways.
