Sai Baba Utsav is held in Shirdi Sai Baba Sansthan Trust temple during Ram Navami festival for 3 days. In 2017, Sai Baba Utsav begins on April 4 and ends on April 6.
The main festival will be held on Rama Navami day. On this day, the sack of wheat kept in Dwarkamai is changed and the old one is taken to Prasadalaya to use it in making of Prashad.
The flags kept on Dwarkamai are also replaced with new ones. Descendents of two devotees of Sai Baba, Gopalrao Gund and Nanasaheb Nimonkar continue the tradition of replacing old flags on Sai Baba Samadhi. After this, a grand procession is taken out.
In Shirdi, Urus (a procession of Muslims honoring the gratitude of a saint) is also taken out on Ram Navami day. It is one of the rare occasions where Hindus and Muslims celebrate the same festival on same day in same place with rejoice of togetherness.
