Shakambari Utsavam is a three-day festival celebrated in Ashada masam at Peddamma temple, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. In 2016, Shakambari utsavalu begins from July 11 and ends on July 13.
The temple is decorated with 16 types of vegetables and green leaves like tomato, potato, gourd, beans, lemons, coriander, etc. Peddamma temple is the only temple in twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad to celebrate the Shakambati festival.
Schedule of Shakambari Utsavam 2016 in Peddamma Temple, Hyderabad:
11 July, 2016 – Peddamma thalli Abhishekam at 3 am – Vigneshwara puja, yagashala pravesham, dhwajarohanam. Peddamma vari utsava murthi pallaki ooregimpu in the night.
12 July 2016 – Samuhika Lalitasahasranama Kumkumarchana. at 5 pm Vedaparayanam, Rudrahomam, mantapa puja.
13 July 2016 – Navagraha puja, rudra chandi homam, baliharanam, samoohika Sri Lalitha sahasranama kumkumarhchana. Purnahuthi at noon 12:15. In the night free distribution of the vegetables used in the festival.
Peddamma temple brahmotsavam is held in Magha masam during Vasanta Panchami.
