On the seventh day of Brahmotsavam, in the morning Suryaprabha Vahanam seva and in the evening Chandraprabha Vahana sevas are celebrated in Tirumala Tirupati Temple. In 2024, Seventh day of Navaratri Brahmotsavams date is October 10 (Navaratri Brahmotsavam).
Surya Prabha Vahanam
Seventh day morning, the Lord is seen on surya prabha vahanam. Surya prabha means light from sun. As we all know sun in none other than Lord Srimannarayana himself. Sun worship is as old as life itself. Sun is visual embodiment of Lord Sri Maha Vishnu himself. The vahanam is a chariot of sun god with seven horses representing seven rays of aditya, the sun god.
Chandra Prabha Vahanam
In the night lord goes around mada streets in procession in ‘chandra prabha vahanam’, vahanam of moon lord. During this vahana decoration ‘ganda bherunda pathakam’, a special ornament is adorned on Lord’s chest. Lord’s idol is also decorated with a very big white garland, the emeralds on the chest adding to the majesty.
