Sawan Puja Rituals, Temples busy with Advance Bookings…Hectic preparations are on in Shiv temples across the city for the Hindu month of Shravan which begins on August 1, 2015. A large number of Hindu devotees throng Shiva temples during the monsoon month seeking blessings of the deity.
Devotees are making advance bookings to perform puja in prominent Shiva temples of the city like Mankameshwhar in Daliganj, Kuneshwar temple in Chowk and Shivalaya-Dwadash Jyotirling Dham in Sadar. Temples in Thakurganj, Rajendranagar and Gomtinagar are being decked up too.
There is booking for flower decoration, aarti, Rudrabhishek, prasad for the first Somvar (Monday) of Sawan, as also for Pradosh and Nagpanchami puja. While some temples have fixed rates for bookings, others have not done so to let maximum devotees perform the rituals. “More than 80 bookings for Sawan have already been made, of which maximum are for Mondays, considered the most auspicious for Shiv bhakts,” said religious head of Shivalaya-Dwadash Jyotirling Dham, Sadar.
Ramji, a volunteer at Mankamneshwar mandir, Daliganj, said religious fervor amongst Shiv devotees is evident from heavy bookings which began from at least two weeks before the advent of Sawan.”With still a week to go we have already booked around 25 pujas for Somvars,” said a priest of Kuneshwar temple in Chowk.
