Satam Maharaj was born in a small village at Maharashtra during the year 1877 to a pious family and his family members were ardent devotees of Lord Shiva, and they would daily perform puja at their home, and offer food to the poor people. He was born through the grace of Lord Shiva.

Satam Maharaj also participates in the puja and spent several hours in the Shiva temple by doing meditation and worshipping the god. He was good at education and learnt all the Hindu scriptures and was an expert in all kinds of arts and proficient in regional languages. His birth name was Shankar.

His father was very poor at the time of his birth, and hence he moved along with his family to a village at Mumbai. But the locality they have stayed is not a good place. Lot of drinkers and evil minded people were stayed in that place. Due to that, Shankar also not grown up properly in that place, and he also didn’t study well. This resulted in lot of worries in the minds of his parents, and though they tried their level best to correct him, there was no use. They prayed to Lord Shiva and chanted his mantras, and finally at one stage, they fell sick and both of them were died.

After the death of his parents, he has changed his behaviour and become a calm person. He met a Holy Baba and through his grace, he has got enlightenment, and got more spiritual powers, and through that, he has helped the people by removing their sins, sorrows, depression and diseases. He lived in Danoli, Kohlapur, Maharashtra, and spent his time by visiting the temples, and doing meditation, and blessed his devotees. According to his sincere devotees, though he was died, he is still living in the hearts of lakhs of his devotees, and safeguards them and blesses them in each and every moment of their life.

Though he didn’t educate properly, he contains good knowledge in all the subjects, and contains wisdom, courage and boldness and was a blessed man. He was a sincere devotee of Lord Shiva, and used to chant the “NAMAH SHIVAYA” mantra frequently and also asked his followers to do so.
