Salt Lake FD Block Durga Puja pandal in Kolkata is one of the most popular Durga Puja in the city. This puja, well-known for its innovative themes, has come up with the largest Durga idol (52 feet Durga idol) in Kolkata for 2011. In 2011, Durga Puja has begun on 2 October and will end on 6 October.
This is the tallest and the biggest Durga idol in Kolkata and Bengal as well. Another significance of this idol is – it is made of fibre glass. As per some sources, the theme of Salt Lake FD Block Durga Puja 2011 is ‘Dwadash Shakti Peeth’.
