The 131st Birth Anniversary of renowned epigraphist, first peishkar of Tirumala temple Sri Sadhu Subrahmanya Sastry will be observed on December 17.
Floral tributes will be paid to the life size statue of Sri Sastri located in front of SVETA Bhavan by TTD officials followed by a lecture on his contributions in bringing to light the historical legacy of Tirumala temple by decoding the inscriptions engraved on temple walls, Annamayya Sankeertans on copper plates etc.
Sri Shastry took keen interest in discovering the literary treasure about some interesting facts related to the development of Tirumala and other sub-shrines of TTD engraved on the inscriptions and copper plates and carried out a stupendous research work on it. He also brought out the facts in the form of several volumes and also some evergreen sankeertans of Tallapaka Annamacharya.

తిరుప‌తి, 2020 డిసెంబరు 15: తిరుమలలోని శాసనాలను అనువదించి శ్రీ వేంకటేశ్వరస్వామివారి వైభవాన్ని విశ్వవ్యాప్తం చేసిన శ్రీమాన్‌ సాధు సుబ్రమణ్యశాస్త్రి 131వ జయంతిని డిసెంబరు 17వ తేదీ గురువారం నిర్వహించనున్నారు.
ఈ సందర్భంగా తిరుపతిలోని శ్వేత భవనం ఎదురుగా గల శ్రీ సుబ్రమణ్యశాస్త్రి కాంస్య విగ్రహానికి టిటిడి అధికారులు పుష్పాంజలి ఘటిస్తారు. ఆ త‌రువాత త‌రిగొండ వెంగ‌మాంబ స‌మావేశ మందిరంలో స‌మావేశం నిర్వ‌హిస్తారు. శ్రీమాన్‌ సుబ్రమణ్యశాస్త్రి శ్రీవారి ఆలయ పేష్కారుగా ఉంటూ ఎపిగ్రఫిస్టుగా రాగిరేకుల శాసనాలను సేకరించి అనువదించారు. అన్నమయ్య కీర్తనల భాండాగారం నుంచి చాలా రాగి రేకులను వెలికితీసి కీర్తనలను వెలుగులోకి తెచ్చారు.
