Lord Rama is also known as Ravana Samhara Murthy, since he destroyed the dreaded demon Ravana, and removed the fear from the minds of the Devas, and also got back his wife Ma Sita from Lanka, and took her to his Ayodhya Kingdom. Before killing Ravana, Lord Rama has made many peace talks with him through Vanaras, but since Ravana didn’t respond to the words of Rama, finally he was killed in the hands of Lord Rama.
Lord Rama is also known as “ABHAYA HASTA MOORTHY”, since he keeps his right hand in the form of blessing posture, and also known as “ANUGRAHA MOORTHY”, since he showers his grace to his devotees unlimitedly. Rama is also called as “KARUNA SAGARA”, which means he showers his mercy on his devotees like a vast ocean, and as “PAPA VIMOSANA MOORTHY”, since he removes the sins of his devotees. Lord Rama is considered to be the wish fulfilling tree, Kalpavriksha and the divine cow Kamadhenu, since he fulfills the wishes of his devotees and also grants salvation to them. Lord Rama is also known as “PADMASANA MOORTHY”, since he used to sit in the form of Padmasana posture while offering his prayers to Lord Shiva. Lord Rama is also known as “VILLALI”, since he is a talented archer.
Lord Rama is also called as “HRUDAYA RAMA”, which means, the Lord who always remains in the heart of his devotees, and also known as “ADAIKALA MOORTHY”, since he has accepted Ravana’s brother Vibhishana as his own brother, when he has joined with Lord Rama as a refugee.
During the time of his departure from Ayodhya, Lord Rama has also shown his rare “VISWAROOPA FORM” to Sage Vasishta as per his request, and hence, he is also known as “VISWAROOPA MOORTHY”. Lord Shiva is very fond of accepting holy bath from his devotees, and whoever performs holy bath to him using milk and other auspicious items, would be blessed by Lord Shiva forever in their lives.
During the Treta Yuga, after getting good boons from Lord Brahma, Ravana began to harass the Devas, Sages, people living in the earth, and also caused lot of fear in the minds of the pious and chaste women. In order to bring back prosperity in the universe, Lord Vishnu had incarnated as Lord Rama, killed Ravana, and maintained proper Law and Order in the entire universe.
