Guru Raghavendra Puja on Thursday | Guruvara Raghavendra Swamy Puja

Guru Raghavendra Swamy of Mantralayam

Guru Raghavendra Swamy of Mantralayam

We can worship Guru Raghavendra on all the week days, and especially on Thursdays, in order to get fruitful results in our lives. Thursdays are meant for worshipping the great Lord Dakshinamurthy, an aspect of Lord Shiva, and apart from him, saints like Guru Raghavendra and Sai Baba of Shirdi are also worshipped on Thursdays, since Thursdays are also known as “GURUVARAM”, which means the most auspicious day for worshipping our Holy Gurus. In the temples of Guru Raghavendra and Sai Baba, their shrines would be decorated nicely on Thursdays, and free Prasad items also would be offered to the devotees.

Though Guru Raghavendra was born in Madhwa Brahmin Community, yet, he is considered as a Universal Guru, and he is being worshipped by his devotees irrespective of caste, creed, community and religion. Though the great Guru Raghavendra cannot entirely change our fate, he would do his level best, and would make us to peacefully breathe in this world. It is very difficult to live in the earth in this present Kali Yuga without the guidance of a proper spiritual guru, and hence, god has sent some saintly men in this earth, in order to protect the people from their troubles and turmoil.

But most of us are not having proper faith on the god and on the Guru, and if some of our needs are not fulfilled, we even start cursing them. One thing we should always remember is that, whatever is written on our fate, it cannot be changed by anyone, even by the god and by the Holy Gurus. Gurus would give the withstanding powers and the courage to face any kind of difficult situation in our lives.

In some Temples like Sithalapakkam Raghavendra Temple, the deity of Shirdi Baba is also installed, since according to the devotees, both of the gurus are pure and perfect. But nowadays some regular devotees of Guru Raghavendra, are being diverted, since they feel that their wishes are not fulfilled by Guru Raghavendra, and hence they stop worshipping Guru Raghavendra, and began to concentrate their attention on Shirdi Baba.

Actually Guru Raghavendra and Shirdi Baba contain great spiritual powers, both are divine gurus, and they are satisfying the needs of the devotees according to their sincere prayers, and also according to their karmic deeds. They also would never find partiality with their devotees. Whoever we may worship, but, only if we have the proper luck in our fate, they would be able to do it favourably. But anyhow, to some extent, definitely the divine gurus would slightly bend our fate by praying to the almighty, and would add sweetness in our lives.Gurus are the special creations of Lord Brahma, and they act as an intermediary between us and the great almighty.

Let us worship the holy gurus, sincerely, and be blessed.
